Human Cloning

Updated: January 7, 2009
Controversy arises in the Four States as reports of the first human clone begin to surface. Missouri Congressman, Roy Blunt made a stop at St. John`s Regional Medical Center to discuss his stance on human cloning. He says that hundreds of failed attempts to create one clone is something a human baby can not be subjected to, and it`s mainly that type of ethical issue that makes human cloning wrong. Blunt says, "To say this is justified because you might be able to take these little lives and somehow extend someone else`s life is simply a bridge that we are not capable of or ready to cross and in my opinion may never be ready to cross because it`s not the way things are normally done." Blunt says he`s urging the Senate to complete work on a measure passed in the House that bans human cloning. He also says the president is ready to sign the bill when it reaches his desk.
