The Pittsburg High School Band has just returned from the Dallas Cotton Bowl. Over 100 people including students and parents made the trip to the Cotton Bowl which was held in Dallas on New Year`s Day. The band won second place in the marching division and first place in the jazz band competition. The students faced some stiff competition at the event marching against 16 other bands from around the country. "The seniors in this group remember band was not the thing you did at Pittsburg High School. To come full circle with a three year period they have worked very hard for me and I`m proud,"said Susan Ridgway,Band Director. T The band left from the event on December 29th and arrived back in Pittsburg on January 2nd. The trip to Dallas cost almost 54-thousand dollars. Half of that was funded by corporate and private donations in Pittsburg. Reported By: Brad Douglas
