Funding may be in jeoparady for a four state college. One Missouri lawmaker thinks eliminating funding to some of the state`s smaller colleges may be part of solving the states budget crunch. State Representative Chuck Graham of Columbia says funding to Missouri Southern in Joplin and Missouri
Western in Saint Joseph may be expendable. Graham says the move would save the state almost 39-million dollars, but would shut both institutions down. Its an idea MSSC President Dr. Julio Leon isn`t taking seriously.
"It`s not like the house of representatives is considering this move or the Governor is considering this move. It`s just one legislator speculating about what might have to be done,"said Leon.
Governor Holden is expected to release next year`s budget proposal on Wednesday.
