A new 14-million dollar plant is about to be completed in Carthage.
The Renewable Environmental Solutions plant will convert the unused turkey parts from the nearby Butterball factory into a new form of energy.
The RES plant is expected to be completed by February and will convert 200 tons of waste a day.
It`s the first plant of it`s kind in the United States.
"But it`s a whole new breakthrough in technology that a lot of people have been trying to do for many years. It basically mimics the natural process of the earth only spreads it by many fold,"
said Don Sanders, RES Plant Manager. Several other products will be made at the plant including soaps and cosmetics.
