Updated: January 7, 2009
The freezing temperatures prove their danger as a four state elementary student arrives at school with frost bite. According to Gary Reed, the Superintendent of Carthage Schools,a Columbian Elementary Student arrived at school showing early signs of frost bite. School officials say it was believed the student had received frost bite while waiting for the school bus, which was running late this morning. Superintendent Reed says this student was not the only one who arrived at school dressed inapropriatly. He says some students came dressed in t-shirts and shorts. "It`s obvious to us we`re going to have to do some things through our health classes and all to teach the kids more so they can be a little more self reliant, a little more you know personally responsible making intelligent decisions,"said Reed. Superintendent Reed refused to comment on the current status of the child. Reported By: Brad Douglas
