MSSC Crosswalk

Updated: January 7, 2009
Area students may now be safer on their way to and from class. After hours of hard work construction on two crossing areas at Missouri Southern State College is finally complete. Two roads near the college now have new traffic lights and a new pedestrian barrier. For the first time, the light on Duquesne road is fully functional. In the past, several students have been injured on Newman road by passing cars. Officials say the new measures should keep the students safer. "The safety of our students is our number one concern and the new lights will help make it safer for everyone,"said Ken Kennedy, MSSC Director of Security. Missouri Southern will foot the more than 380-thousand dollar bill. Reported By:Courtney Cullor
