Amerisource Closing

An area distributing company announces it`s closing its doors in the four-states. The Joplin Chamber of Commerce received word earlier this week that amerisource of Joplin is closing. Amerisource is a pharmaceutical distributor. More than 60 full-time employees will be out of work within a month. "We recieved word earlier this week along with the city of Joplin. By the end of march Amerisource will close it`s doors here in the area,"said Rob O`Brian, Joplin Chamber of Commerce. It is not known at this time if the manufactuer will be conducting a job fair for the workers who are out of a job. Reported By: Brad Douglas
