Tuition Increases

The cost of higher education is increasing at one four state college. The Board of Trustees at Crowder College in Neosho met today to approve a $6 per credit hour tuition increase for the upcoming school year. For students living within the college taxing district, tuition will increase from $51 to $57 dollars per credit hour. Crowder President Dr. Kent Farnsworth says the main mission of the college is to remain accessible for students, but operating costs are essential. "If access is our primary goal, then that means we have to be here to do whatever it takes for a student to get a degree," Farnsworth said. School leaders say Crowder College ranks as the 8th most affordable among 12 community college districts in Missouri. Reported by: Ryan Loyd
