Electric Rate Hikes

Your electric company is asking for a rate hike. The Empire District Electric Company wants a rate increase for its Oklahoma customers. Empire has filed a request with the Oklahoma Corporation Commission. If approved the average customer would see an increase of about $6.63 per month. Oklahoma customers make up about three percent of Empire`s revenue. Based in Joplin, Empire has about 152,000 customers in the Four State area. Reported by: Jim Jackson
