Cox was shot and killed in downtown Joplin after he opened fire on several police officers. Cox was a passenger in a car police tried to stop. That`s when Cox got out of the car and fled on foot.
Police say Cox then turned and fired at the officers. Autopsy results show Cox died of a gunshot wound to the chest.
