The family of one Joplin soldier stationed in the Middle East is praying for their son while he fights for our freedom. 24-year-old Lewis Ellington has been in the U.S. Marine Corps for two years. He is now stationed in Kuwait as a mechanic. Lewis` parents, David and Linda Ellington of Joplin have been able to keep contact with their son through letters. They say despite the mail, they are still concerned for his safety. "As a parent, when their younger. When there`s anything of danger or something their afraid of. You`re able to step in alleviate the fear and to protect them. When you have a situation when there`s nothing you can do,it`s scary,"said David Ellington. David ellington says his son`s orders are to serve another six months in Iraq. He says that may be extended if the war goes longer. Reported By: Brad Douglas
