An early morning phone call leads investigators to a murder victim. Police are investigating Joplin`s fourth murder this year. The scene of the crime was at 807 Connor in Joplin. A 38-year old woman is dead, and one man is in custody in connection with the fatal stabbing tonight. Just before ten o`clock this morning, police received a phone call from an anonymous caller who said that a body was found in a rural location west of Joplin, near the Kansas border. That`s where police found the victim who they believe was left there overnight. Police believe the stabbing happened at a home on Connor street, but that the victim`s body was taken to the rural location later. Police have taken a 45-year old suspect into custody in connection with the stabbing, but they say neither the suspect nor victim lived at this residence on Connor street. Detectives are questioning the man at this hour to determine any involvement with this murder."We do have a suspect at the station, he`s being interviewed. He has not been charged, we`re not going to release the name at this point. Death appears to be stab wounds. We don`t have a final result from any autopsy, be performed in Springfield,"said Delmar Haase, Joplin Police Department. Officers took the man into custody this afternoon following a short pursuit near 26th and Murphy. Investigators from the Joplin Police Department and Jasper County Sheriff`s Department are continuing their investigation. Police say a neighborhood canvas is being conducted here, going door-to-door to find out any additional information. Reported By:Ryan Loyd
