Another area school district was not so lucky during yesterday`s election. The Seneca School Bond was defeated by just 10 votes last night. The bond would have added 13 additional classrooms at the middle school. It also would have removed five trailers at the elementary and middle school. Voter turnout for yesterday`s election was very low with only a 20 percent turn out in Newton County.
Bobby Martin, the Superintent of Seneca schools, says if turnout would have been higher, he thinks the bond issue would have passed.
Superintendent Martin says he plans to put the bond issue on next April`s ballot.
