Two suspects are charged with shooting a man in the head while he was repossessing a car. Authorities say 23-year old James Carrington of Mt. Vernon was shot early this morning. Police say Carrington called 911 and told dispatchers he was being pursued on I-44 by 45 year old Steven Brayfield and 48 year old Joyce Brayfield. The Springfield couple were the owners of the vehicle Carringtion was trying to repossess. Dispatchers advised Carrington to continue to travel west and officers would meet him. Carrington then called 911 back and reported he had been shot in the head. He was taken to Cox South hospital where he was treated and released. Both have been released from the Lawrence County jail, after posting $150,000 dollar bond each. Reported By: Brad Douglas
