There is some major spring cleaning going on in Carthage. Businesses and home owners are encouraged to clean up the city, because they will be featured on the Travel Channel. The channel is expected to begin filming in mid-July. The program will be called "Discover America" and it will give an overview of the town. "It`s an honor, this town has a lot of great character. The square especially has a lot of character and a lot of history to it. It`s exciting we can show everyone what we`re doing in a little small square like Carthage,"said Jennifer Lavite, Dry Gulch on the Square. The program is expected to air in the spring of 2004. The cost to bring the crew to Carthage will be twenty thousand dollars. The city will also be able to use the additional pictures for promotional videos and tourism. Reported By:Brad Douglas
