Updated: January 7, 2009
A popular four state attraction will be getting bigger. A 5 point 2 million dollar expansion for George Washington Carver National monument is in the works. Plans to significantly increase the size of the visitors center, add more classroom space and make other improvements have been in the planning stage for several years. But park officials say federal funding for the project has been finally been approved. Carver was born near Diamond and became, among other things, an internationally renown scientist. Work on the project may not start for another year and a half. Reported By:Stuart Price
