As temperatures continue to rise, our thermostats continue to drop. That`s why it`s important to keep your air conditioner running smoothly. Experts say it`s important to keep your filters clean. Also, it`s a common mistake for people to turn their air conditoners off when they leave for work. But this could prove costly in the long run. "You want to make sure you leave your air conditoner running all through out the day. And you can`t one come home in the afternoon and expect it to catch up running. You want to keep it a steady temperatures as much a possible. That kind of keeps it running a little smoother,"said Brandon Branham,AAA Heating and Air. And keeping those electric bills low can be a challenge. Experts suggest scheduling laundry and cooking in the early morning or late evening hours. "Primarily by keeping the heat out. And this can be done by keeping your doors closed unless your going in or our. Also by putting up drapes or shades to block the sun.Even awnings can help by blocking the heat gain,"said Amy Bass, Empire District Electric.
