Carthage School Cuts

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
Budget cutbacks are affecting schools across the show-me state, but parents in one area district are fighting back. The Carthage school district has been forced to cut one-million dollars from its budget. That`s why school officials decided to cut seventh, eighth and ninth grade sports except for football. But some parents of 7th graders say that`s just not acceptable. The parents are hoping to raise 31-thousand dollars which would keep the entire 7th grade athletics program going. Eleven thousand of that needs to be raised by July in order to cover the cost of winter sports. Reported By: Robin Rogers
