Updated: January 7, 2009
A man is facing multiple charges in one state and could also face charges in another after police say he nearly drove into a house. Galena Police Chief Cameron Arthur say 39 year old Micheal Wanstreet of Arizona would have driven right into the house had he not hit an air conditioning unit. From there, Arthur says Wanstreet drove into a nearby ditch before police finally got him out from behind the wheel for good. "quite fortunate the individual under the influence that he was didn`t hurt someone driving like he was and also found it was a stolen vehicle from pineville and the suspect was wanted for stolen property and credit cards and a number of other items located in the vehicle," said Arthur. In Kansas, Wanstreet is charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, stolen property, drug paraphenalia, marijuana, criminal damage to property and driving under the influence of alcohol. No word yet on the charges he may face in Missouri. Arthur says its not yet clear why the suspect was in the four states to begin with. Reported By: Stuart Price
