Holiday Deaths

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
Missouri State Highway and water patrol officials are gathering accident information from the busy fourth of July weekend. So far water patrol officials say there have been two confirmed fatalities on missouri lakes and rivers this weekend. Several other boating injury accidents have been reported because officials say the fourth is one of the few times during the year that people are on the water at night. Officials say it`s not only important to remain cautious during holidays, but a few water safety tips should be followed all summer long. Always wear a life jacket, don`t drink and boat, watch your boat speed, avoid congested areas of the lake and do not jump wakes. If you`d like more information on water safety tips, visit the Missouri State Water Patrol website. www.mswp.state.mo.us ### Reported By: Ryan Loyd
