As KSN was the first to report, a four state robbery suspect recovers from gunshot wounds. Miami Police say 46-year-old Vivon Peterson Jr. robbed a Love`s convenience store in Miami late Sunday night. Officials say Peterson walked into the store on Steve Owens Boulevard just before 10 o`clock Sunday night. Authorities say the man left with an undetermined amount of money, and police were able to locate Peterson and after a short chase. In an interview with KSN early Monday morning, Miami Police Chief Gary Anderson says two officers were able to stop the suspect near the Deluxe Inn and Suites. As the suspect argued with officials, police say he raised a gun and began waving it around. That`s when officer Chris Leaman shot Peterson three times - once in the chest, abdomen, and a leg. Anderson says although Peterson was only carrying a pellet or BB type gun, his officers are trained to end the threat of the situation. Anderson says the suspect was taken by helicopter to a Joplin hospital and is listed in good condition, but he says doctors were expected to perform several hours of surgery. Chief Anderson says both patrol officers are on administrative leave while the investigation continues. Reported By: Ryan Loyd
