One local city, and its mayor are named in a lawsuit by the school district. The Carl Junction school district, along with six private citizens have filed civil lawsuits against the city of Carl Junction, Mayor Jim Wisdom, and the Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad. The suit concerns the proposed "rails to trails" program in Jasper County. Which converts the railway into a walking and biking track. The suit was filed after Mayor Wisdom signed a contract with the railroad to assume all responsibility for the abandoned tracks. It is unclear as to why the suit was filed. Reported By: Robin Rogers
