Fraud Indictment

A Joplin man is indicted in a fraud scheme to sell water-damaged vehicles.
54-year old John Graves has been charged with a 10-count indictment by a federal grant jury. Officials say Graves purchased water-damaged vehicles and then resold them, misrepresenting to buyers they were damaged. Officials say the suspect made, forged, altered and counterfeited motor vehicle titles for use in the sale of the damaged vehicles. Graves was involved in the business through east side auto, incorporated in Joplin.
