As KSN was first to tell you, reports of a possible pipe bomb sent local residents out of their homes. The suspected pipe bomb was found in the floorbord of a truck owned by Darren Roper of Sarcoxie. A bomb squad from Jefferson city ruled the device non explosive. The truck was parked in the driveway of Roper`s home at 106 south 15th street in Sarcoxie. The bomb squad removed the cap and found it filled with welding rods. Officers aren`t sure who is behind the device,or who put it in roper`s truck. And Roper`s stumped too. "I opened up the door and there was a pipe laying there. Caps on the side of it. I didn`t really know what to think. I started to pick it up and throw it out. Figured it was a prank or something. Someing the in the back of my head said don`t touch it. We called the local police,"said Darren Roper, bomb was in his truck. "It appears to be 16 inches long, two, two and a half inches in diameted with a copule screws on each end of it. We didn`t see any type of fuse. Or any type of detonating device on the outside of the device,"said Tim Hudson. All the residents are now back in their homes, and 15th street is back open to traffic. Reported By: Brad Douglas
