Updated: January 7, 2009
A historic four state resort is destroyed by fire. The Ginger Blue Resort in McDonald County burned to the ground this afternoon. The resort is located between Noel and Lanagan on Elk River near Hwy 59. Traffic was backed up for sometime as fire crews had to close down part of the highway to battle the blaze. The resort was famous for dining and dancing, and in later years was used for a bed and breakfast, but most recently sat vacant in disrepair. Fire units from Lanagan, Noel and McDonald County responded to the blaze. The cause is still under investigation. Reported by: Courtney Cullor
