Ginger Blue Fire

Updated: January 7, 2009
Arson is suspected in a blaze that destroyed a former luxury resort in Southwest Missouri. The lodge at Ginger Blue Resort near Lanagan in McDonald county burned to the ground last night. Firefighters could only watch as the main lodge burned. They say the resort which was build in 1915, will continue to smolder for several days. "Something that huge, that big of a structure, it`ll take a while. We didn`t waste a lot of water on it. We got most of it knocked down for right now. It`s just a few hot spots, it`s gonna burn, but it`s not gonna get out anywhere, it`s gonna be inside the foundation,"said Chris Anacito, Lanagan Police. Neighbors said the fire was the third this year at the property overlooking the Elk river. Officers are investigating the blaze as arson. Reported By: Jim Jackson
