Latest at Joplin Airport

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
As people around the world begin to re-mobilize today, the story in the Four States is quite different. Officials at the Joplin Regional Airport continue to wait for the first commercial airliners to touch down. Early this morning two small privately owned planes taxied down the runway and prepared to take off. But then a message from the FAA was released at the last minute, preventing private jets and planes from filling the airways. Joplin airport officials are still hopeful that by the end of the day they will have at least one plane on the ground. The last previously scheduled flight would have come in at 10:55. That same plane would be the first out tomorrow at 6:00am.
