Anderson Soldier Killed In Iraq

A local soldier is killed in Iraq during a gernade attack. 21 year old Jonathan Barnes of Anderson was killed on Saturday. He was attacked by rebels outside a children`s hospital in the city of Ba`qubah. He is survived by his wife Amanda and daughter Michelle. His father James lives in Anderson. Barnes was assigned to the 4th Infantry Division from Fort Hood,Texas. His father says Johnathan had always wanted to go into the military. "He was a fighter,he liked to fight. He wanted to go to the military ever since he was a little boy. When he finally did go he was gone this past two years and a half. And he lived here with me he and his wife, when they had the new baby,"said Barnes. The family is currently talking with the military to coordinate when his body will be returned to Anderson.
