Updated: January 7, 2009
Local blood center officials report an overwhelming response to the need for blood donations. Officials at the Community Blood Center of the Ozarks have reported more than 2,000 donors have registered to give blood at donor centers in the past two days. Normally, blood collections are about 250 per day. Officials are urging anyone without an appointment who would still like to donate to postpone donations this week. They ask that you instead make a donation over the next several weeks as the crisis unfolds.
