By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
A mosquito caught in a trap in Joplin tests positive for West Nile Virus. Officials with the Joplin Health Department discovered the mosquito during a weekly test. The positive test result is the first since the testing began in May. Health officials say residents shouldn`t be overly concerned due to a low risk of illness. Local residents should reduce areas of standing water in their yards to reduce their risk of infection. Reported by Sarah Lonnevik
