How well is one local school district educating your children? New scores are shedding light on the subject. The scores are in and the results are mixed. the Joplin R-8 school districts map test scores were released today. While the high schools scores have improved, the middle school scores have consistently remained low. However, many school officials were most impressed with the grade school scores. In many of the subjects the grade schools have hit near perfect marks. As you may remember. Joplin High Schools map scores were on the decline last year but Superintendent Dr. Jim Simpson says those scores have dramatically improved. Dr. Simpson says the high school was there main concern but after much work by the teachers and students those scores are going up. Now, Simpson says they are concerned with the middle school scores. They have remained low for the past few years.Simpson says they are going to continue to look closely at the areas where the middle schools are lacking and work hard to bring those scores back up. Simpson says even though the scores are mixed throughout the district they are pleased with the results as a whole. Reported By: Courtney Cullor
