Drug Court

Updated: January 7, 2009
Northeast Oklahoma officials hope a new program will cut down on repeat drug arrests. The drug court program will be offered to repeat drug offenders in Ottawa and Delaware counties. County officials will use a 100-thousand dollar grant from the state department of mental health to start the program by October. The grant will help fund a coordinator and treatment for 30 individuals from each county. Officials say the drug court will be used as a last chance for drug offenders before they are sent to prison.
