Barton County Pursuit

A routine traffic stop sends area officers on a high-speed car chase and foot pursuit through barton county. The incident happened just before two AM this morning when a Barton County officer stopped a vehicle on highway 160. A check of the driver`s license of the passenger,31-year old Wayne Bailey revealed numerous warrants from newton county. Officers say when they attempted to take bailey into custody,he slid into the driver`s seat of the car and fled the scene. Following a 35-minute pursuit officers say bailey abandonded the car and led them on a foot pursuit through a field. That`s where the suspect finally surrendered. Bailey is being held in the Barton County jail on the warrant charges which total 251-thousand dollars. Reported By:Robin Rogers
