Transporting Prisoners

One local county is looking at changing the way they transport prisoners. After controversy regarding transporting prisoners. One county may choose to contract a private company for out of state prisoner transportation. Earlier this summer the Jasper County Sheriff`s department was surrounded by controversy. While transporting a criminal, deputies allegedly spent four days in flordia with expensive receipts submitted to the county for their stay. In response to the high cost of prisoner extradition trips County Commissioners may decide to contract transcorp for the service. The Jasper County Commissioners hope to make a decision regarding transcorp in the next couple weeks. Reported By: Jennifer Granna
