A 90-year old building will soon see new life as it re-opens to the public. The Frisco building has been under construction since last summer to turn the structure into apartments for low to moderate income people. The building is scheduled to open on October 1st. The Frisco Building was the first high rise in Joplin and a center for downtown activities. Citizens are hoping it will soon become that again. "This is gonna be good for all of downtown. The more people that are living in an area, the more perceived it is safer more viable more vibrant. So it`s gonna be good for the downtown,"said David McCulley, Main Street Joplin.
Main Street Joplin is sponsoring the Frisco Building Dessert Reception.
It will be held on September 27th at 8pm. Tickets will be 10 dollars a person. For more information call Main Street Joplin. 624-1060.
