Cockfighting Followup

A McDonald County man says he is guilty of operating an illegal cockfighting ring. Dana Waddle was arrested after McDonald County authorities discovered items relating to cockfighting on his property. On Wednesday Waddle pleaded guilty to six misdemeanor counts of possession of cockfighting implements and four misdemeanor counts of selling or offering for sale fighting game cocks.Waddle was given a six month suspended prison sentence and a one-thousand dollar fine suspended sentence on each of the six counts. Waddle must serve two years probation and 200-hours of community service with the carthage humane society or the Neosho and Joplin animal shelters. He must also pay 170-dollars in restitution to a local veterinarian. Waddle is also not allowed to have more than his three pets during the probation period. Reported By: Ryan Loyd
