Question 695, Right to Work

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
Next Tuesday only one issue will appear on the ballot in Oklahoma. But as KSN`s Andrea Molloy explained, the one issue covers many sides of the right to work. The election in Oklahoma next Tuesday only covers one item, but for each side of the right to work issue the question can make a monumental difference. Question 695, more commonly known as Right to Work, would allow individuals to take on a job without being required to join a union or pay it`s fees. But those who hope right to work will pass say it should be up to the individual not the workplace. They say if you do not receive benefits from belonging to the union, you should not be forced to fund the group. Unions call those who refuse to pay freeloaders and hope by defeating this bill it will be impossible for non-members to profit from their work. The public will vote on Question 695 or the Right to Work on September 25th in Oklahoma.
