Parsons Ammo Grant

A local ammunition plant will benefit from a national grant. The Kansas Army Ammunition plant in Parsons will receive over 1-hundred and million dollars from the grant. Those funds are for improvements to the sensor fuzed weapon. Three and a half million dollars will be used to transition the plant into a leading production facility for the department of defense`s future smart munitions program. Another one point four million is reserved for the marine corp to purchase sixty millimeter mortar rounds. Reported By:Sheradee Hurst
