A deadly virus has been found in the water supply in some local communities. Residents in two Jasper County Communities are being told to boil their water. The Department of Natural Resources has detected E Coli bacteria in some of the water samples in Neck City and Purcell, Missouri. City workers are draining the Purcell water tower to kill any bacteria. They are also cleaning the water tower by injecting it with chlorine. George Tate and his Great-Grandson live in Purcell. They say it`s become an incovience just to get a drink of water. "we have to boil it for everything we do. You can`t use it for nothing without boiling unless you gonna that it before its used. we have to boil. we went to town and bought water,"said George Tate, Purcell Resident. Residents are currently using water from Alba as a backup. The boil order is in effect until water samples indicate the contamination is no longer present. If you live in these communities, you are asked to boil all cooking and drinking water vigorously for three minutes. Disinfect food surfaces like dishes and countertops. And dispose of all ice cubes. City leaders say water used for bathing does not need to be boiled. Reported By: Brad Douglas
