Jasper County Sheriff`s Department Restructuring

A new county sheriff announces some changes within his department. Jasper County Sheriff Archie Dunn has announced several new promotions and a restructuring of the Jasper County Sheriff`s Department. Captain Kelly Stephens has been promoted as the Operations Commander. Under him will be the criminal investigation division with Lieutenant Jeff Merriman. Also serving that department will be Patrol Lieutenant Jerry Gilbert and Communications Director John Karraker. The second division will be a Jail Commander with Captain Kevin Blaukat. And Jail Lieutenant Warren Hildebrandt will serve with him. The third divison will be Administration Commander will be Captain Tracy Sparrow. He will work with records, evidence and internal affairs. Dunn says this new restructuring will help the office become more efficiant. Dunn says this new restructuring will not affect the budget, since costs will be covered from the elimination of the Chief Deputy position. Dunn says the deputies will wear new uniforms and have to trim their facial hair. Only mustaches will be allowed. Reported By: Brad Douglas
