Compounded Drugs

Senate leaders are taking a hard look at one type of pharmaceutical procedure called compounding drugs. It`s a customized medication made specifically for patients who need a unique dosage or different strengths of medicine. But now Senators Kit Bond of Missouri and Pat Roberts of Kansas are taking steps to make sure this safe practice remains safe. One reason some local pharmacists believe this issue is getting special attention is because of a case back in the early 90`s.
Local pharmacists say compounded drug prescription made is guided by a physician and is carefully worked with.
