Updated: January 7, 2009
A quiet area neighborhood is rocked by the suspicious death of a four-state woman. Officers from the Pittsburg Police department and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation have been on the scene since nine o`clock this morning after being notified of the death of a Pittsburg woman. A report released late this afternoon confirms that one woman is dead, but sources aren`t saying how she died. KSN`s Ryan Loyd spoke with many residents in the 1900 block of south pine in Pittsburg today. They say the neighborhood is almost entirely made up of college students and is quiet most of the time. But one resident says she had a hard time sleeping last night,so she stayed up late to watch t.v. She says she heard what sounded like a gun shot early this morning around 2. Lt. Brent Narges with the Pitt Police Dept. says the victim was not a college student, but is a resident of Pittsburg. Right now information about the victim`s identity and how she died remains unclear until authorities notify family members of the victim. If you have information on this case contact the pitt pd at 620-231-1700. Reported By:Ryan Loyd
