Parsons Unit Called To Active Duty

Another area unit get their orders, they too are being called to active duty. Soldiers for the 243rd Quartermaster Battallion out of Parsons, Kansas have been ordered to serve in the fight against terrorism. The 60-soldier unit provides command and control of assigned and attached direct or general support supply and service units. In the first part of December the unit will move out to Fort Riley, Kansas for final mobilization inprocessing. A farewell ceremony has been scheduled for this Tuesday, November 25th. The ceremony starts at 8-o`clock at night at the VFW in Parsons. All residents are invited to attend. Reported By: Courtney Cullor
