Charges will not be filed in connection with an accident that claimed the life of one mo-dot worker and seriously injured another. The accident happened in late September after a car ran off 7th street across from the Schifferdecker Golf Course in Joplin. The car struck two MODOT employees who were working on a tractor 50 feet from the road. One of the employees was killed instantly and the other suffered serious injuries. Highway Patrol Officers say the driver, Charlene Wilson of Galena, Kansas fell asleep at the wheel which caused her car to run off the road. They say criminal charges are not needed. Wilson suffered only moderate injuries in the crash. Reported By: Robin Rogers
