Fatal Fire Follow-Up

Investigators say the man who died in a recent house fire,has been involved with the law before. The Cherokee County Sheriff`s office says the man who died in Wednesday`s house fire in Lowell, Kansas is 31-year-old Randall Cockerel. Authorities say preliminary autopsy results show he died of smoke inhalation. In October Cockerel was arrested in Galena for possession of methamphetamine`s with the intent to distribute as well as possession of drug paraphanalia. Also, he was charged in 1998 with manufacturing a controlled substance in Joplin. Meanwhile officers are still trying to determine the cause of the blaze which claimed his life. Investigators are removing pieces of the flooring to determine if any chemicals were spilled before the fire started. Reported By: Jennifer Grannan
