The Labette County Sheriff`s office received an anonymous tip this morning with the location of a body in rural Cherokee County. Both the Labette and Cherokee County Sheriff`s offices are declining to say whether they suspect foul play. Labette County Sheriff William Blundell says at approximately 7:30 this morning they received a tip that a body was in a river bed just east of Chetopa, Kansas. Because the body was actually found in Cherokee County, both offices are working together to determine what occured. The Kansas Highway Patrol, Kansas Bureau of Investigation, and Tri-State Major Case Squad are assisting in the investigation. As you know, Chetopa woman, Judy Shrum has been reported as missing since Monday. But Sheriff Blundell says they are unsure whether they`re dealing with the same woman. if you have any information on either 58-year-old judith`s shrum`s disappearance or the body investigators found today. You`re being urged to contact the Labette or Cherokee County Sheriff`s offices or the Kansas Bureau of Investigation. Those phone numbers are 1-800-247-4024. 620-429-3992 or 1-800-KS-CRIME. Sheriff Blundell says they expect to have a positive identification on the body tomorrow after preliminary autopsy results are in. Reported By:Jennifer Grannan
