Soldier Funeral

The funeral for an Aurora soldier killed in action was held this afternoon in his hometown of Aurora. 37-year old U.S. Army Staff Sergeant James Doug Mowris was among seven U.S. servicemen killed in an arms dump explosion January 29th in Afghanistan. Mowris was with the 414th Military Police unit based out of Joplin. He had been enlisted in the Army and the army reserve for twenty years. Mowris was buried with full military honors.
