81-year-old John Anderton was arraigned this morning in connection with the fatal shooting of 61-year-old Judy Cummings. This morning in court Anderton requested a motion for a bond reduction, but the judge denied anderton`s request. However, the judge did grant a motion by the court to preserve evidence. Cummings was found dead earlier this week with 2 gunshot wounds to her head, one to her arm, and one to her chest. Anderton was later arrested and charged with first degree murder. He claims the shooting was done in self-defense. He is scheduled to be back in court on Monday, February 23rd for his preliminary hearing. The prosecutor`s office says anderton may enter a plea on that date.
