An area legislator`s thirst for more information on the water supply brings him to the four states. U.S. Senator Jim Talent visited with area leaders today to discuss the water supply in Southwest Missouri. The area`s water mainly comes from shoal creek and the area aquifer`s. But according to the Tri-State Water Resource Coalition that supply could be in jeopardy if there is a drought in the near future.
"This is the sort of thing you have to roll up your sleeves, you`ve got to understand the issue and then you`ve got to get everybody together behind a solution and we`re fine,"said Talent. The Tri-State Water Resource Coalition is asking the Army Corp of Engineers to look at options for a long term solution. Senator Talent says his office will do whatever`s possible to help find that solution.
