Taking A Bite Out of Crime

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
One of the essential tools in the fight against drugs are K-9 drug dogs, that`s why a few four legged officers are receiving training to help them while on the job. Officers with the Joplin Police Department rely on trained canines to help them sniff out crimes. That`s why the dogs and handlers are undergoing a week long training session. During the training the dogs learned how to find narcotics, explosive devices and track suspects. The officers say they have a strong bond with their animals on the job and at home. The training will last through the end of the week, eight to nine hours each day. Reported By: Brad Douglas
